Holiday Magic in Laurens County: Tree Lightings, Parades, and Festive Events This Week
December 2, 2024As the holiday season approaches, Laurens County is brimming with festive events to bring joy and cheer to residents and visitors alike. Here’s a look at what’s happening this week in Clinton and Laurens:
Clinton:
Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join the community on December 4 at 6:00 PM in the downtown square for the illumination of Clinton’s Christmas tree. The event will feature caroling by local choirs, hot cocoa stands, and a special appearance by Santa Claus for photo opportunities.
Holiday Market
On December 6, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, local artisans will showcase handcrafted gifts, decorations, and treats at the Clinton Community Center. This is an excellent opportunity to find unique holiday presents while supporting local businesses.
Christmas Parade
Scheduled for December 7 at 9:00 AM, the parade will proceed down Broad Street, featuring festive floats, marching bands, and community groups celebrating the season.
Laurens:

Scheduled for December 7 at 3:00 PM, the parade will proceed down Main Street, featuring festive floats, marching bands, and community groups celebrating the season.
Tree Lighting Ceremony
Following the parade, at 5:30 PM, the city will host its tree lighting event at the Laurens Historic Square. The ceremony will include live music and refreshments.
Festival of Lights
Beginning December 5 and running through December 31, the Laurens City Park will be adorned with elaborate light displays. Visitors can enjoy evening strolls through the park from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM daily.
Additional Events Around the County:
Gingerbread House Workshop
On December 5, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Laurens County Library will host a family-friendly workshop where participants can create and decorate their own gingerbread houses. Materials will be provided, and registration is required.
Christmas at Presbyterian College
On December 8, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Presbyterian College will host its cherished seasonal tradition at 503 S. Broad St., Clinton. This event invites students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members to enjoy a festive evening filled with holiday cheer.
