LCSD 56 Announces E-Learning Day for State Championship Game

December 8, 2024

The Clinton Red Devils are headed to the state championship game, and the excitement has spread throughout Laurens County School District 56. To give students, staff, and the entire community an opportunity to cheer on the Red Devils, the district announced that Thursday, December 12th will be an e-learning day for all schools.

The Red Devils will play for the state title in Orangeburg at 2:00 PM on December 12th. Recognizing the significance of this event, the district petitioned the South Carolina Department of Education (SDE) to approve the day as an e-learning day. Approval from the SDE will determine how the district proceeds with assignments and whether the day must be made up in-person. Updates will be shared with families as soon as the district receives confirmation.

For now, students do not need to physically report to school on Thursday. Additionally, any previously scheduled school programs for the evening of December 12th have been cancelled. Schools will communicate any rescheduled program dates once finalized.

“We would love for all of you to be able to attend the game that day,” the district stated in its announcement. Information for fans planning to attend the game will be shared on Tuesday, December 10th.

This is an exciting time for the Red Devil community as they rally behind the team for their championship bid.

Go Big Red!
