Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers Marks Grand Reopening with Special Celebration

July 14, 2025

A downtown Clinton icon is celebrating a fresh start this week as Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers hosts its official Grand Reopening on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, following a year of resilience, restoration, and renewal.

The store, located at 126 Musgrove Street, will welcome customers throughout the day with special sales, giveaways, and the chance to tour the beautifully renovated space. A ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

In addition to giveaways, shoppers can take advantage of a Grand Reopening Sale featuring 50% off jewelry for the day’s festivities.

Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers has been a fixture in downtown Clinton for more than half a century, having celebrated its 50th anniversary in September 2023. Now in its 52nd year, the store remains a family-owned business that has served generations of customers looking for fine jewelry, gifts, and keepsakes to mark life’s most important moments.

Last year, the store faced one of its most difficult chapters when a fire in August 2024 caused significant damage to the Musgrove Street storefront. In true Clinton fashion, the Hanvey family and their loyal customers rallied. Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers reopened within weeks at a temporary location just down the street, allowing them to continue serving the community while the original space underwent extensive repairs and renovation.

The reopening of the restored Musgrove Street store in April of this year marked not just a return, but a reinvestment in the future of downtown Clinton. The updated showroom offers a fresh, modernized space while maintaining the charm and warmth the store has long been known for. Shoppers will find expanded displays of jewelry, watches, clocks, and unique gifts, as well as improved lighting and customer spaces designed to enhance the shopping experience.

“This space holds so much history for our family and for our customers,” said Kim Epting of Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers. “After the fire, we had so many people reach out to encourage us, to share their memories, and to tell us how important this store is to them. That support really carried us through.”

Throughout its five decades in business, Hoyt Hanvey Jewelers has been known not just for quality merchandise and expert service, but for its role as a steady and trusted presence on Clinton’s square. The Grand Reopening celebration is not only a chance to shop but also an opportunity to recognize the store’s resilience, longevity, and ongoing commitment to the community.

Customers new and old are invited to stop by on July 16 to explore the updated store, enjoy the day’s special offerings, and celebrate the next chapter of this enduring Clinton business.
