East Cooper Community Outreach opens doors for community tours of newly renovated space

August 29, 2025

East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) is excited to welcome the community to its newly renovated campus with Community Open Tours every Friday in September. Guests will have the opportunity to explore ECCO’s refreshed space, see the mission in action, and learn more about how the organization provides hope and help to neighbors in their time of need.

The guided tours will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm each Friday, beginning September 5, 2025. Visitors will get an inside look at ECCO’s essential  services — from food assistance and clothing to dental care and financial wellness — and see firsthand how community support makes a life-changing impact on thousands of local families each year.

“The dust has settled, and our doors are open,” said Executive Director Stephanie Kelley. “This renovation isn’t just about a new look for ECCO — it’s about strengthening our ability to serve. We want our partners, supporters, and neighbors to experience this transformation and see the direct impact of their generosity.”

Tours are free to attend, but advance reservations are encouraged. Guests can reserve their preferred time by visiting www.eccocharleston.org/tours.

ECCO invites community members, partners, and supporters to join in celebrating this milestone. Refreshments will be available, and each tour will conclude with opportunities to learn more about ways to engage with ECCO through volunteering, partnerships, and giving back.

About East Cooper Community Outreach

Founded as an emergency relief effort in 1989 after the devastation from Hurricane Hugo, East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) has since grown into a permanent resource for the community with three main service areas: Assistance, Guidance, and Resources. Nearly two thousand families receive help through ECCO’s Wellness Pantry, Financial Assistance, Dental & Medical Clinics, Prescription Assistance, Clothing Closet, Asset Development Program, and more each year. Enhanced through personal interactions with staff who provide individualized support and coaching for each client, ECCO meets each client where they are and helps them navigate the challenges they are facing with care and compassion. ECCO is also a place where people who want to help their neighbors in need can find meaningful ways to share their time, talent, and treasure. Each year, over four hundred local neighbors give their time volunteering at ECCO. For more information about how to receive help or provide help, visit www.eccocharleston.org. Follow ECCO on social media @eccocharleston for updates, photos, and more ways to get involved.
