Fountain Inn Launches Annual Spring Cleaning Pickup for Residents

May 11, 2026

The City of Fountain Inn has officially launched its annual Spring Cleaning initiative, providing residents with a dedicated window to dispose of bulky household items that are not typically accepted during regular sanitation routes.

The program, managed by the Fountain Inn Public Works team, is currently underway and will continue through May 21, 2026. City officials emphasize that this month-long effort is part of a broader commitment to maintaining the community’s cleanliness and aesthetic appeal.

Key Program Guidelines

To participate in the specialized pickup, residents within the city limits must adhere to several specific requirements:

  • Registration Required: Unlike standard trash collection, residents must register in advance to secure a scheduled pickup date.

  • Curbside Timing: Approved items must be placed at the curb by 7:00 AM on the resident’s assigned day.

  • One-Time Service: The city is limiting the service to one pickup per household.

  • Safety and Labor: Public Works staff are strictly prohibited from assisting with moving items from inside homes or private property; all items must be accessible at the curb.

Accepted and Prohibited Items

The program is designed for large-scale household waste, including appliances like stoves and refrigerators, mattresses, and tires. However, officials remind the public that only approved items will be collected. Residents are encouraged to review the city’s official “Yes/No” list to avoid being bypassed during the route.

How to Participate

Residents can register by scanning the QR code provided on the city’s official announcement or by visiting the Fountain Inn municipal website. It is important to note that no pickups will be conducted on Fridays during this period.
