Laurens County Hall of Heroes 3rd Annual Memorial Day Ceremony

The Laurens County Hall of Heroes is inviting the community to its 3rd Annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Laurens County Library Veteran’s Monument, 1017 West Main Street in Laurens.
The event honors Laurens County service members who gave their lives in defense of the nation’s liberties and freedoms.
“The Laurens County Hall of Heroes Memorial Day Ceremony is our opportunity as a community to stop and truly honor those who gave everything so that we could live free,” said Morris Maden. “We invite everyone in Laurens County to come out, bring your family, and help us remember the heroes who called this county home.”
Car Show Kicks Off the Morning
The celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. with a car show open free to the public. Awards will be presented to the top three vehicles, making it a fun family-friendly start to the morning’s remembrance.
Ceremony and Wreath Laying
At 11:30 a.m., attendees will gather for the formal Laying of the Wreath ceremony, a solemn tribute to the fallen heroes of Laurens County.
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, who has served 30 years with the South Carolina Army National Guard, will deliver the keynote address.
