City of Clinton to Convert West Pitts Street to One-Way Traffic Beginning July 6

June 10, 2026

The City of Clinton has announced a traffic pattern change for a section of West Pitts Street, with the conversion to one-way traffic set to take effect July 6, 2026.

The affected section runs between North Broad Street and Elizabeth Street. Beginning July 6, vehicles will enter West Pitts Street from North Broad Street and exit at the intersection with Elizabeth Street. Entry from Elizabeth Street onto West Pitts Street will no longer be permitted.

“This change reflects our commitment to making Clinton’s streets safer and more efficient for everyone who lives here and visits our community,” said City Manager Joey Meadors. “We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our residents as we work to improve transportation in the area.”

City officials say the change is part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and enhance safety in the area. New signage and road markings will be installed in advance of the effective date.

A 30-day notice period is being provided to give residents and motorists time to plan for the new traffic pattern.
