Laurens County Museum to Host Pirate Exhibit From SC State Museum
June 21, 2026The Laurens County Museum will open “Pirates, Privateers and Buccaneers,” a traveling exhibit from the South Carolina State Museum, on June 27. The exhibit runs through Sept. 26.
The exhibit aims to dispel a number of popular myths about pirates and addresses the problem of modern piracy, according to the museum.
In a social media announcement, the museum invited the community to “set sail for adventure,” noting that visitors might even get to see Captain Laurens Blackbeard.
The Laurens County Museum is located at 116 S. Public Square in Laurens. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
