Fountain Inn Natural Gas Hosts Upstate Partners for Public Awareness and Safety Event

Fountain Inn Natural Gas recently welcomed utility professionals, first responders, and partner organizations from across the Upstate for a Public Awareness Breakfast focused on natural gas safety, emergency preparedness, and industry best practices.

Hosted by Fountain Inn Natural Gas at the City of Fountain Inn Activity Center, the event provided an opportunity for organizations that play a role in public and utility safety to learn together, strengthen working relationships, and reinforce the importance of coordination before an emergency occurs.

The City welcomed Glen Boatwright of Boatwright Consulting as the event’s guest speaker. Boatwright brings more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, with expertise in natural gas pipeline safety, regulatory compliance, emergency planning, and response. His presentation provided attendees with practical information and industry perspective related to public awareness and safe natural gas operations.

“Public awareness and safety are responsibilities we all share,” said Eduardo Noriega, Fountain Inn Natural Gas Director. “Bringing our regional partners and first responders together gives us an opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen those relationships, and make sure we are prepared to work together when our communities need us.”

The event also highlighted collaboration among City of Fountain Inn departments. Members of the Fountain Inn Fire Department participated alongside regional attendees, while the City’s Parks & Recreation Department provided the Activity Center as the event venue. Fire Department personnel also assisted the Natural Gas team with cleanup following the program.

Fountain Inn Natural Gas regularly works with first responders, contractors, public agencies, and other community partners to promote safe natural gas practices and public awareness. Educational opportunities such as the Public Awareness Breakfast are part of the department’s continued commitment to safety, preparedness, and strong regional partnerships.
