Gray Court store sells $50,000 Powerball ticket

Someone in Laurens County may be sitting on a $50,000 surprise. A Powerball ticket sold at Southern Kitchen & Gas Store on Highway 101 South in Gray Court hit for that amount in the Saturday, Sept. 19 drawing.
The numbers drawn that night were 18, 30, 41, 45 and 68, and the Powerball was 10. To win $50,000, the ticket holder landed four of the five white-ball numbers along with the Powerball. Only about one ticket in every 913,129 does that.
No winner had been named as of this week. South Carolina gives lottery winners a 180-day window after a drawing to come forward, so anyone who stopped by the Gray Court store for a Saturday ticket has plenty of time to dig it out of a wallet, purse or cup holder and take a second look.
Money from South Carolina lottery sales helps pay for education programs across the state, in addition to covering prizes and payments to the stores that sell tickets.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time.
