Early voting begins Monday, October 19 for Nov. 3 general election

October 18, 2026

Laurens County voters can start casting ballots Monday, Oct. 19, when early voting opens for the Nov. 3 statewide general election.

Early voting runs Monday through Saturday, Oct. 19 to Oct. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The early voting center will be closed Sunday, Oct. 25.

One location for the county

All Laurens County early voting takes place at the Laurens County Voter Registration and Elections Office, 105 Bolt Drive, Suite B, in Laurens. Any registered Laurens County voter may vote there, regardless of which precinct they normally use. Voters do not need to give a reason for voting early, and the process works the same way it does at the polls on Election Day.

Residents of the Laurens County portion of Fountain Inn also vote early at the Bolt Drive office.

What to bring

Voters will be asked to show one of the following forms of photo identification when they check in:

  • South Carolina driver’s license
  • South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles identification card
  • South Carolina voter registration card with photo
  • Federal military ID
  • U.S. passport

What is on the ballot

The general election ballot includes races for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, statewide constitutional offices, the South Carolina House and several Laurens County offices. Because districts vary by address, voters are encouraged to review their personal sample ballot before heading out.

Prepare before heading out

Voters can view their personal sample ballot, find voting locations and access other election details through the State Election Commission’s website, scVOTES.gov. The same information is also available by calling or visiting the Laurens County Board of Voter Registration and Elections.

Absentee and Election Day voting

Voters who qualify to vote absentee by mail have until Friday, Oct. 23, to request a ballot. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the county elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Voters who do not vote early will cast ballots at their regular precinct polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Because polling locations can change between elections, all voters are encouraged to confirm their precinct and polling place before Election Day through scVOTES.gov or by contacting the county elections office.

For questions about registration, early voting or absentee ballots, voters may contact the Laurens County Board of Voter Registration and Elections at 864-984-4431.
