COLUMBIA, SC – A.C. Flora High School is ranked #409 among the top 1,000 schools in the Washington Post’s 2015 list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools.

Among the state-by-state top 20 listings, A.C. Flora is ranked #2 and Dreher High School is ranked #16 in South Carolina.

The annual ranking of the nation’s high schools was based on the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, as well as the number of seniors graduating that year.

In addition to having an exemplary International Baccalaureate program, A.C. Flora has many outstanding academic achievements. A.C. Flora students have an 85% four-year graduation rate, an average SAT score of 1,505 and 76% of its students attend four-year colleges.

A.C. Flora Principal Richard McClure is extremely proud and grateful for the honor. “It’s a tribute to the hard work of our faculty and students and support of our parents who bought into the concept of a challenging school environment,” said McClure. “In addition, the district provides the means for kids to be successful.”
