A Conversation With… Crystal Keyes of Dumpster Dynasty, LLC
July 23, 2026By Karen Owens, Publisher
Georgetown County is growing rapidly, and with that growth comes a massive demand for dependable disposal services. Stepping up to fill that need is Dumpster Dynasty, LLC, a new local venture launched in February by the husband-and-wife team of Tim and Crystal Keyes. Combining Tim’s 30-plus years of construction expertise with Crystal’s deep background in real estate, the dynamic duo is out to prove that the waste industry can be efficient, compassionate, and—believe it or not—a lot of fun.
If you’ve driven through the local coastal communities lately, you’ve likely spotted their signature bright turquoise dumpsters sporting playful phrases like “HGTV made me do it!”
We caught up with CEO Crystal Keyes to learn more about their journey, their eye-catching style, and the family legacy they are building.
Dumpster Dynasty’s dymanic duo – Crystal & Tim Keyes.
Georgetown SC Gazette:
What inspired you and Tim to start Dumpster Dynasty?
Crystal Keyes, Dumpster Dynasty, LLC:
My husband, Tim, has spent more than 30 years in construction, and I am in real estate. Together, we saw firsthand the demand for dependable and efficient disposal services as Georgetown County and the surrounding coastal communities continue to quickly grow! We had always dreamed of owning a business together, and this felt like the perfect opportunity to combine our experience while serving the community we love.
We’ve been married for nearly 25 years, raised our family here, and have always believed that America is a place where hard work and determination can turn dreams into reality. We named our company Dumpster Dynasty because we hope it’s more than just a business—we hope it’s a family legacy that one day our children will continue.
Georgetown SC Gazette:
Who are your typical customers?
Crystal Keyes:
We serve both residential and commercial customers. On the residential side, we help homeowners tackling garage cleanups, estate clean-outs, renovations, landscaping projects, and other home improvement jobs. On the commercial side, we work with builders, contractors, remodelers, roofers, property managers, and businesses that need reliable and affordable disposal services. Everybody creates too much trash!
Some of the most meaningful calls we receive are from families who have recently lost a loved one and are faced with sorting through decades of memories. We approach those situations with compassion and understand that we’re helping people through more than just a cleanup.
What areas do you serve?
Crystal Keyes:
We proudly serve all of Georgetown County, parts of Charleston County, parts of Horry County, and the surrounding Coastal South Carolina communities. A full list of our service areas can be found right on our website at Dumpster Dynasty.
Georgetown SC Gazette:
Everyone is talking about your vibrant turquoise dumpsters. What made you choose that look?
Crystal Keyes:
The first thing people notice is our bright turquoise dumpsters! “WOW, they’re too nice to put garbage in!” we’ve heard more than once. They’re clean, eye-catching, and impossible to miss. We believe a dumpster doesn’t have to be an eyesore. Every single one is pressure washed, regularly touched up with fresh paint, and carefully maintained because we take pride in our image. We leave these in people’s driveways, sometimes for weeks, and I don’t want them to smell or look neglected. Our equipment represents our business, and our reputation matters.
We also believe the waste industry should be fun! We put playful sayings on our dumpsters like “Contractor said no, Chardonnay said yes!” and “HGTV made me do it!” People laugh, take pictures, and tell their friends about them. We love making people smile!
Georgetown SC Gazette:
It sounds like you two really enjoy working together. What’s the best part of the job?
Crystal Keyes:
Running this business side-by-side has become one of life’s unexpected blessings! I wish we’d started years ago when our kids were younger, but I’m grateful for every day we get to spend working together now. When we’re not delivering dumpsters, we enjoy spending time together outdoors—fishing, beachcombing, tending our garden, and cooking good food with family and friends.
Whether we’re helping a contractor keep a jobsite moving or a family cleaning out a loved one’s home, we understand that every dumpster represents a project, a transition, or a fresh start. Seeing the relief on someone’s face when we haul away a full dumpster is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
One thing that surprises people is how much I actually enjoy going to the landfill. It’s the highest point in Georgetown County, and there are almost always majestic bald eagles there. I love photographing them! It’s a reminder that beauty can be found in the most unexpected places.
Above all, we’re grateful to serve the community we call home and are proud to do our part in keeping Coastal South Carolina beautiful—one turquoise dumpster at a time!
