Ben Lehnerer has been named 2021 Chair for the Upstate regional leadership council of Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABC Carolinas). Lehnerer is a project manager with Carolinas-based A M King, an Integrated Design-Build firm with an established presence in the Upstate. Lehnerer has been with A M King’s Greenville office for nearly nine years.
As Regional Leadership Council (RLC) Chair, Lehnerer will work closely with the entire ABC Carolinas Upstate leadership team to promote the “merit shop” philosophy and the free-market system as it relates to the construction industry. Lehnerer noted that ABC Carolina’s Upstate RLC will continue to focus on the critical issue of workforce development in 2021. The group will also provide members opportunities for valuable networking, as well as “face-time” with both state and federal representatives who have a direct impact on legislation that affects their construction businesses.
“One of the main objectives of ABC Carolinas is to improve the construction industry for the betterment of its members – construction managers, general contractors, specialty contractors, suppliers and other industry professionals,” said Lehnerer. “I look forward to taking on the specific challenges identified by our various committees at the local level and am confident that by working together we can make a positive difference beyond just our immediate region.”
