A M King wins national Design-Build awards for TrueCore Insulated Metal Panel facility in Laurens County

August 26, 2020

Carolinas-based A M King, an integrated Design-Build firm with an established presence in the Upstate, has been recognized with two separate national awards from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) for its single-source delivery of a state-of-the-art manufacturing and Class A office facility in Laurens County. The award-winning facility is owned by TrueCore, a manufacturer of Insulated Metal Panels (IMP). TrueCore panels are used in facility construction and renovation of cold storage, food processing, dry industrial and manufacturing projects.

A M King won National Design-Build Awards of Merit for the TrueCore project in two distinct categories: Industrial/Process and Small Projects. A M King is one of three contenders for a National Award of Excellence in the Industrial/Process category and has also been nominated by the judges for Best Small Project. The awards presentation will take place virtually on October 29 during DBIA’s modified annual Design-Build Conference. DBIA will unveil the results of the pending awards during the awards ceremony.

“Creating an award-winning facility is certainly an honor in itself, but what makes this national recognition extra special is that this project represents TrueCore’s first-ever manufacturing facility, and also serves as their corporate headquarters,” said Andre Harris, A M King’s Greenville Business Unit Leader. “On behalf of A M King’s entire leadership team, I want to congratulate all of our project team members on a job well done!”

A M King completed construction on TrueCore’s new facility last fall. In addition to planning, design and construction, A M King provided property consulting services consisting of complete site selection services within a three-state area, all purchase negotiations with the property sellers, and negotiating and receiving a comprehensive economic incentives package from the State of South Carolina and the Laurens County Development Corporation.
