AAF of the Midlands Accepts National Club of the Year and President of the Year Awards at AAF National Convention in Florida

June 4, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC — American Advertising Federation of the Midlands (AAF of the Midlands) President Danielle Salley and President-Elect Megan Telencio traveled to Boca Raton, FL to accept awards at the American Advertising Federation’s national ADMERICA conference last week. AAF of the Midlands won the 2014 National Club of the Year for Division III of the American Advertising Federation for the second year in a row, and President Danielle Salley won 2014 President of the Year for Division III.

Each year, the AAF honors top clubs in eight categories: advertising education, communications, diversity, government relations, club operations, membership, programs and public service. Additionally, a “club of the year” is chosen in each division, as well as a “president of the year.” The clubs of the year are determined by the total score of their entries in the eight categories.

AAF of the Midlands placed in five categories as well as winning the National Club of the Year award for Division III:

•   Advertising education – 1st place

•   Membership – 1st place

•   Programs – 2nd place

•   Public Service – 2nd place

•   Diversity – 2nd place

“When we started the year, I knew this board and our members had what it was going to take to win this title for a second year in a row,” said Salley. “I’m so proud to see them recognized for their hard work on a national level.”

Salley was a featured panelist for the “How’d They Do That?” session at the conference, which included all the 2014 President of the Year winners. AAF of the Midlands previously won the National Club of the Year Award in 2011 and 2013.
