AAF of The Midlands Awards Scholarship to Diversity Internship Program Recipient

October 21, 2008

COLUMBIA, SC – October 21, 2008 – The American Advertising Federation (AAF) of The Midlands recently selected Kain Robinson to complete the AAF of The Midlands Diversity Internship Program. The Club also awarded him with a scholarship at their annual kick-off event.

After spending time at a local advertising agency, printer and television station, Robinson, a sophomore at Irmo High School, chose to spend a week at The Colonial Center. There he shadowed staff members in their day-to-day tasks and got a glimpse of what it’s really like to work for The Colonial Center. After his internship was complete, Robinson was presented with a scholarship check from AAF of The Midlands.

Robinson was chosen from a pool of applicants after he wrote an essay on why a career in advertising interested him. AAF of The Midlands accepts applications each year from minority applicants between seventh and tenth grade for the Diversity Internship Program. Applications for the 2009 Diversity Internship Program will be available at www.aafmidlands.com and through school guidance counselors beginning in November.
