AAF of The Midlands to Host “Diversity in Advertising” Lunch Program Next Wednesday, November 19

COLUMBIA, SC November 11, 2008 – The American Advertising Federation (AAF) of The Midlands has announced that Jason Chambers will be speaking on Diversity in Advertising at its November Luncheon Program. The program, sponsored by TPM, will be held Wednesday, November 19, at 11:45 a.m. at The Inn at USC in downtown Columbia, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Chambers is an associate professor in the Department of Advertising at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He currently teaches courses on advertising history, the incorporation of race and ethnicity in advertising campaigns, and the foundations of advertising philosophy. His first book, Madison Avenue and the Color Line: African Americans in the Advertising Industry, examines the employment and entrepreneurial experiences of African Americans in the advertising industry. The book is available for purchase now at most major bookstores.
