COLUMBIA, SC – January 8, 2008 – Abacus Planning Group welcomes Charles W. Hammer, CPA as chief operating officer. Charlie graduated from Southern Adventist University with a B.S. in Accounting in 1984. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in South Carolina and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He began his career with four years of public accounting with Ernst & Young (formerly Ernst & Whinney.) He left public accounting to work for Columbia Lumber and Manufacturing, where he spent 14 years as controller and subsequently chief financial officer. After the sale of Columbia Lumber to outside investors, Charlie spent six years as chief financial officer of PalmettoNet, Inc. & Spirit Telecom.
