July 28, 2016

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) will present the Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road LIVE! on Saturday, August 13 at 8:00 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium. Last year’s sell-out performance was talked about all year, so it’s back for an encore performance for one night only! Called “One of the world’s premier Beatles cover bands,” by US News and World Report, the FAC is thrilled to be able to bring this exciting concert back to the FAC. Abbey Road LIVE! is sponsored by Sam Kendall’s. Don’t miss your chance to see this remarkable group of musicians! Tickets are on sale now and are $25 each for general seating. The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Seating is limited, so please purchase your tickets as soon as possible.

About Abbey Road LIVE!
Based in Athens, GA, Abbey Road LIVE! has been rocking the music of the Beatles at clubs, theatres, festivals, and private events since 2001. Initially a tribute to the monumental “Abbey Road” album, the band has expanded its scope to include more than 100 Beatles tunes from all eras of the Fab Four’s career. Abbey Road LIVE! is not your typical Beatles look-alike tribute act; don’t expect mop-top haircuts and vintage Rickenbacker guitars. Rather, this show is about bringing to life some of the more mature and complex Beatles all the while remaining true to the original recordings. Combining attention to detail with a creative exuberance, the band always delights audiences with its diverse repertoire of hits and more obscure favorites. Enjoy such songs as “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Day Tripper,” “Hey Jude” and “Ticket to Ride.” Abbey Road LIVE! consists of Dave Domizi (bass, vocals;) Andrew Hanmer (drums, vocals;) Michael Wegner (guitar, keyboards, vocals;) and Camden native, Chris McKay (guitar, vocals.)

“Last year, when it was confirmed that we would perform at the Fine Arts Center, I was very excited,” said Chris McKay. “Not only was it a chance to play in my hometown, which has become very rare, but it was a chance to play in the very building where I took classes, attended plays and art exhibits, and generally had wonderful, memorable times growing up. When I was young, I always wished I could perform on that stage! And then, to my surprise, I got the word that we had sold out! What a feeling!”

“I’m excited to know that we’re fortunate enough to have another opportunity to play for a wonderful, accepting, happy crowd that will sing along, dance, enjoy themselves, and exchange their energy with ours in the most magical ways imaginable!”
