Adam Landy receives President’s Award from SC Bar’s Young Lawyers Division

COLUMBIA, SC – McNair Law Firm is proud to announce that associate Adam Landy has been named a 2015 recipient of the President’s Award, presented by the South Carolina Bar’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD). The award recognizes YLD members who exemplify dedication to public service.

Since joining the Bar, Adam has been active in both professional development and community service projects through the Young Lawyers Division. For three years, he has served as committee co-chair for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Committee (VITA), which works to provide free tax preparation for South Carolina residents with annual total household income of $52,000 or less. He also serves on the Professional Development Committee, which facilitates educational and networking opportunities for young lawyers. Most recently, Adam was named co-chair of the Annual Bar Convention Committee.

“Adam’s inspires lawyers, young and old, through his commitment to the law and his community,” said Michael Beal, Columbia’s managing shareholder. “It is a pleasure to work alongside Adam, and to watch him grow as a leader in his profession.”

In addition to his involvement with the YLD, Adam is a member of the United Way of the Midlands Palmetto Society, as well as the Young Leaders Society, where he serves on the Executive Committee as immediate past chair. He focuses his practice on tax law, with an emphasis on estate planning, probate administration and tax controversy matters. Adam received his undergraduate, master’s and law degrees from the University of South Carolina, and his LL.M. from Northwestern University.
