Advent United Methodist Church selects Good City Architects to design new addition

August 17, 2016

August 17, 2016 (Simpsonville, S.C.) – Good City Architects, an architecture and interior design firm based in Greenville, S.C., is designing a $3 million addition and renovations for Advent United Methodist Church in Simpsonville.

Advent is located on Woodruff Road near the Five Forks area of Simpsonville. The renovations will expand worship seating and create a new space for connecting with worshippers. A 15,000-square foot addition will house a 3,000 square foot “connecting space,’ new offices and a new music suite. Changes to the sanctuary will nearly double its seating capacity. The platform will be reconfigured to accommodate a growing choir and better provide space for a contemporary band. Other renovations will improve security and further support the Church's ministry to children.

“After a successful generosity initiative, we are glad to be moving forward with the project,” said Michael Turner, Advent United Methodist Church senior pastor. “Good City Architects has brought ideas to help us use our buildings to reach part of Greenville that doesn’t show any sign of slowing its growth.”

Advent has selected Trehel Corporation of Greenville as its contractor. Good City and Trehel expect to complete design work this month and start construction in the fall. For more information on Good City Architects, visit goodcityarch.com or call 864-360- 9292.
