As an attorney, Few brings decades of judicial expertise and legal insights to complex litigation issues for clients across the Palmetto State

After nearly three decades serving in the judiciary of South Carolina, including over ten years as a Justice on the state’s highest court, former S.C. Supreme Court Justice John C. Few is opening his own law firm in Columbia and will engage in the private practice of law.

Few will focus on complex litigation, taking his clients back into the same South Carolina courtrooms in which he presided as a judge. His new law firm is John Cannon Few, LLC.

“I take pride in everything I have done over my 26 years of judicial service, but there will be no soft landing for me, as I plan to return to the active practice of law with the same energy and enthusiasm that has defined my career as a judge and Justice,” said Few.

During his time on the state’s highest court and his six years as Chief Judge of the South Carolina Court of Appeals, Justice and Chief Judge Few authored over 200 published opinions that will remain cornerstones for the resolution of cases for years to come. Judge Few’s work on these courts and his ten years as a trial judge earned him a solid reputation for integrity and intellect that he now takes back to the service of his clients.

Born in Anderson and brought up in Greenwood, Few has lived his entire life in South Carolina. He was educated at Duke University and the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law. For more than 10 years, he practiced law in Greenville before becoming a circuit court trial judge in 2000.

His office will be located at 1518 Richland Street in downtown Columbia, S.C.
