AIDS Benefit Foundation of South Carolina Hosts “Fabulously Hot” Dining With Friends Dessert Finale March 23

March 8, 2013

AIDS Benefit Foundation of SC will host its annual Dining with Friends Dessert Finale March 23rd at Palmetto GBA, 17 Technology Circle in Columbia.  The fabulous festivities start at 7pm.

This year’s Dessert Finale, with a “Fabulously Hot” theme, will cap the annual Dining With Friends fundraising drive, during which participants from all over the midlands host parties in their homes, asking their guests to donate to the AIDS Benefit Foundation of SC.  Party hosts and their guests then gather at the Dessert Finale, which is also open to those who haven’t participated in earlier parties.  Admission for those who haven’t donated at an earlier party is a recommended $25 donation at the Dessert Finale entrance, or via an online donation at http://abfsc.org/SupportingUS.htm.  Admission is limited to those aged 21 and over.

This year’s gala finale event will feature a variety of gourmet desserts, an open bar, Starbucks© coffee, live entertainment from DJ DDL and a silent auction where guests may bid on hand-painted platters by South Carolina artists, in addition to a wide range of other high-value items.  Among the items available for auction: Cirque du Soleil tickets, Ruth’s Chris gift certificates, golf packages, Bikram Yoga membership, Coach and Costas Sunglasses and much, much more.

Founded over twenty years ago, the AIDS Benefit Foundation of South Carolina is a non-profit ((501(c)(3)) organization whose sole purpose is to raise money and distribute grant monies to those helping others in dealing with issues that may arise from the disease HIV/AIDS.  All proceeds from Dining With Friends go back into the community in the form of grants to area HIV/AIDS service organizations.

Over the years, Dining for Friends has become synonymous with community, friends, family and celebration. One of the special things about Dining for Friends is the diversity of people who choose to take part. It is exciting to see folks who otherwise might not cross paths come together on this special night in support of a common cause.

·       South Carolina ranks 9th in the nation in new HIV/AIDS cases

·       The highest percentage of newly diagnosed HIV positive people in South Carolina are young adults ages 20-29
