Alaric Van Dam, M.D. joins Midlands Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery, PA

Midlands Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery, PA announced the addition of Dr. Alaric Van Dam to the team as of May 1st, 2025. Dr. Van Dam joins Midlands Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery, PA from Palmetto Bone and Joint, P.A. in Chapin, SC, where he specialized in diagnostic and intervention procedures related to conservative spine and joint care.

Board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Van Dam brings wide and varied experience. He served as Director of Interventional Medicine and Clinical Mentor for the USC Department of Orthopedics at Palmetto Health USC Orthopedics, Director of Spine Center at Palmetto Health Moore Orthopedic Clinic, and Director of the Spine Services Line at Providence Hospital Moore Orthopedic Center.

Having completed his undergraduate studies at College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, 1993, Dr. Van Dam continued on to medical school at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, where he graduated in 1997. He completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2001.

Dr. Van Dam is pleased to join Midlands Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery and said, “I’m honored to have the opportunity to work with this elite team of physicians, and to bring my knowledge and experience in interventional medicine and diagnosis to the practice”. When not working with patients, Dr. Van Dam enjoys time outdoors playing golf, fishing, and spending time with family. He looks forward to continuing to serve his community and is accepting new patients.
