Alexander Named Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations
September 9, 2010CLEMSON, SC – September 9, 2010 – Ann Marie Alexander, senior director of development for the College of Engineering and Science at Clemson University, has been promoted to senior director of corporate and foundation relations for Clemson’s office of development.
In her new role, Alexander will oversee all corporate and foundation fundraising for Clemson University. She will lead a team of other development officers representing all areas of the university to build comprehensive and strategic partnerships with corporations and foundations. She also will work with college and central staff development officers to raise money from corporations and foundations.
“Ann Marie’s proven experience in fundraising with our corporate partners, along with her previous career in the private sector, makes her the ideal candidate for this role,” said Brian O’Rourke, director of development and alumni affairs.
Alexander came to Clemson in 2005 after working in marketing for Mitsui and Co. (U.S.A.) Inc., an international trading company in New York City, for 11 years.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 1988, her master’s in international affairs from Columbia University in 1992 and her MBA in marketing from Fordham University in 2001.
As the senior director of development for the College of Engineering and Science, Alexander helped secure private and corporate funding for many of Clemson’s Centers of Economic Excellence (CoEE), including those in Advanced Fiber-Based Materials, Supply Chain and Logistics, Optoelectronics and Cyber-Infrastructure.
