COLUMBIA, SC – November 30, 2012 – All About Beer Magazine announced details regarding enhancements to the Columbia 2013 World Beer Festival (WBF) to be held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center on January 19, 2013.

“We had an extremely successful turn out for the 2012 festival last January in Columbia,” said Daniel Bradford, President of All About Beer Magazine.  “We also got a great deal of very constructive feedback from festival goers and it led us to make what we believe are significant and very positive enhancements for 2013.”

Bradford has put in place a new, highly experienced event production team to plan and execute the 2013 festival.  He has also created a NEW Brewery Support Program, encourages the breweries to bring sufficient quantities of beer to the festival, and allows for the beer manager to diligently track beer inventory.  This will allow WBF to track how much beer each brewery brings and ensure there is enough beer flowing for the entire festival.

“Festival goers can expect shorter lines at booths and a better use of space at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center,” said Chris Rice, Vice President of All About Beer Magazine.  “I was an attendee at the Columbia festival last year, I had a good time, but I could see where some fundamental changes could make it much, much better.  Our new strategy moves some festival components and beer tasting tables out into the lobby areas of the Convention Center and the layout of the rooms will make it easier to move around and enjoy yourself.”

The WBF introduced its new “beer loving” team members at the press conference and each of them have extensive backgrounds in event and festival planning and implementation.  Their combined experience promises to bring a fresh perspective to the 2013 festival in Columbia.

“I have met the new team and they are very passionate about bringing Columbia an absolute quality event,” said Lindsey Spires Griffin, board member, Columbia Opportunity Resource.  “We’ve started recruiting volunteers for the 2013 event and we assume spots will fill fast. Each year we have more people volunteering than we have room for.”

“I welcome the World Beer Festival back to Columbia and wish them much success at the 2013 Festival.  The festival is a quality event and it, along with our other festivals, keeps Columbia on the map as The New Southern Hot Spot,” said Mayor Steve Benjamin.

The World Beer Festival, presented by All About Beer Magazine, is committed to educating the public about the true diversity in beer varieties.  Over 100 breweries will be present featuring a variety of beer styles to sample, including IPAs, pales ales, witbiers, kölsch, pilsners, ciders, stouts and many more.  The festival challenges attendees to explore the beer varieties and find out what beer style suites their taste.

Tickets for the Columbia 2013 World Beer Festival are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.AllAboutBeer.com/WBF or at participating festival sponsor locations:  Green’s, Morganelli’s Party Store and World of Beer.  The Columbia World Beer Festival is also sponsored by the Bet Mar Liquid Hobby Shop, Carolina Ale House, Columbia Regional Business Journal and Flying Saucer Draught Emporium.

The mission of the World Beer Festival is to educate the public in beer appreciation and beer quality, and to build the local beer community.  Every aspect of the World Beer Festival focuses on promoting the positive attributes of the growing beer culture.
