Nonstop flights on ultra-low-cost carrier, Allegiant Air, from Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) will be starting in less than a month providing locals an easy and cost-effective way to get to multiple Florida destinations – just in time for summer travel season.
On May 15, nonstop service to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) will begin. Service to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) will be starting the following week on May 22.
Both routes will operate up to twice per week on Thursdays and Sundays – ideal for long weekend getaways.
“We are thrilled to now be able to offer the local community a low-cost flying option,” said Kim Crafton, Vice President of Marketing & Air Service Development. “Increasing air service to a community can be a long process, as our airport like many others across the nation are competing for the same service. I’m thankful our team was able to secure Allegiant and look forward to it being a successful partnership for the airport and the Midlands region.”
