Allen Wilkerson named Chairman of the Home Works Board of Directors

June 13, 2025

Allen Wilkerson, vice president of Colliers International in South Carolina, has been elected chairman of the board of directors for Home Works of America, a Columbia-based nonprofit that repairs homes free-of-charge for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners, including military veterans, in the Palmetto State and beyond.

Wilkerson succeeds Marty Brown, CEO of Colite International, who has served as Home Works’ board chairman for the past 10 years and will continue to serve the organization as an at-large board member.

“Allen’s service on our board already has been a great benefit to the mission of Home Works,” said Home Works Executive Director Madelyn Smith. “We’re grateful he is stepping into the role of chairman and thankful to Marty Brown for his dedicated leadership during the past decade. Marty’s guidance and advocacy has been and will continue to be a huge gift to this organization.”

In the past 10 years with ongoing support from charitable foundations, corporate and individual sponsors and a dedicated volunteer workforce, Home Works has repaired 1,371 homes in communities across South Carolina. The organization was founded in 1996 with a Christ-centered mission to assist disadvantaged homeowners with critical home repairs that enable them to remain safely in their homes. In the past 29 years, Home Works has repaired a total of 4,029 homes with 63,877 volunteers.
