AllSouth Federal Credit Union held food drive for Harvest Hope

August 31, 2021

As our community continues to recover from the effects of the pandemic, many people continue to struggle with food insecurity in our communities. AllSouth Federal Credit Union decided to support Harvest Hope’s effort and their campaign “Take a Bite out of Hunger” to help collect much needed goods by hosting a two week long food drive.

AllSouth members, team members, and the community generously made donations. All 22 AllSouth locations served as collection sites for non-perishable food and other much needed items, such as baby supplies during the food drive. In addition, members and employees donated $1,145 to Harvest Hope. The combination of monetary and food donations collected will provide 10,239 meals to families in the Midlands.

As one of the top credit unions in the Midlands, AllSouth is committed to giving back and making a difference to help improve the quality of life for the communities they serve. “We are committed to supporting and giving back to our community. Partnering with Harvest Hope and utilizing our vast branch network allowed us to collect a large number of items. We have caring employees who are enthusiastic about giving back to the community. We are grateful for our members and team members who joined us in supporting this cause,” said Connie Hernandez Vizitei, VP of Marketing for AllSouth.

Harvest Hope is the largest food bank in South Carolina with a mission to transform lives in the communities they serve by feeding the hungry, addressing food insecurity and building a healthy and hopeful hunger-free tomorrow.
