AllSouth Federal Credit Union hosts Food Drive for Harvest Hope

November 17, 2020

Food insecurity has increased significantly in our community over the past few months during the pandemic. To help meet this growing need, AllSouth Federal Credit Union donated $5,000 to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank and will host a food drive beginning Monday, November 16 until Friday, December 11. AllSouth locations will serve as donation drop-off sites during the drive. AllSouth welcomes donations from the community.

These items are the most needed:

  • Non-perishable foods such as rice, pasta, beans (canned and dry), canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned meats, canned beans, canned meals (like Chef Boyardee or beef stew), macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, jelly (no glass, please), cereal, Ramen noodles, snacks, and more
  • Baby supplies (diapers, wipes, formula, foods – no jars)
  • Plastic grocery bags (Harvest Hope uses these to package the donated food for families and individuals)

You can donate items at any of AllSouth’s 23 locations around the Midlands. AllSouth will require all visitors to wear masks and ask that you practice social distancing. For a full list of AllSouth locations, please visit the AllSouth website: https://www.allsouth.org/hours-locations.

Harvest Hope is the largest food bank in South Carolina. Their mission is to eliminate hunger and food insecurity in the Midlands, Pee Dee, and Upstate. Harvest Hope offers programs that provide food for children, seniors, and rural residents with limited access to grocery stores. They also partner with stores throughout the state to collect unexpired, safe, and edible food to distribute to shelters, food pantries, and soup kitchens. Harvest Hope also operates their emergency food pantries in Columbia and Greenville to provide a week’s supply of groceries at no cost to anyone in need.

AllSouth Federal Credit Union believes in giving back to help improve the quality of life for the communities it proudly serves. They support local non-profit organizations, causes, and charities that support the military, family crisis, homelessness, and hunger in the Midlands area.

Join AllSouth in supporting this cause by making a donation.
