American Bar Association recognizes Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP’s Emily Bridges with the Edward (Jack) Wood Dunham Rising Scholars Award

Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP  congratulates attorney Emily I. Bridges on being named recipient of the 2016 American Bar Association Forum on Franchising’s (ABA) Edward (Jack) Wood Dunham Rising Scholars Award. This national award, given annually at the ABA Forum on Franchising, recognizes the best written contribution to franchising by an attorney practicing for less than 5 years. Bridges’ winning article is titled, “Keep Off My (Virtual) Lawn: Encroachment in the Age of the Internet” and will be published in a future edition of the Franchise Law Journal.

Bridges joined Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP’s litigation team in 2015, and her practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on antitrust and franchise litigation. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she served as Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review. She earned her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Furman University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
