American Legion Post 25 Riders to host sixth annual toy drive and ride Nov. 14 in Laurens
October 7, 2026The American Legion Post 25 Riders will host their sixth annual Toy Drive on Saturday, Nov. 14, giving Laurens County residents a chance to help make Christmas brighter for local children.
The event begins at 10 a.m. at 1500 W. Main St. in Laurens. Motorcycle riders will gather for the toy run, with kickstands up at noon. Participants and community members are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy.
The toy drive has been a holiday tradition in Laurens County for 10 years. American Legion Post 25 started the effort, and six years ago the post’s riders took over leadership of the event, turning it into the toy run that now draws motorcyclists and families each November. Over the years, the toys collected have supported local Christmas programs for children whose families are facing hardship, including the Christmas for Kids effort led by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
“Post 25 started this toy drive a decade ago, and we quickly realized our riders were the right ones to lead it,” said Post 25 Commander Kevin Farnsworth. “They have carried it for six years now, and every toy that comes through goes to a child right here in Laurens County. We are grateful for every rider and every family who shows up to make sure no child is overlooked on Christmas morning.”
The event’s theme, “Veterans Serving Community, Community Supporting Veterans,” reflects the post’s long-standing mission. Post 25 was chartered under the Department of South Carolina American Legion in 1920 and has served Laurens County veterans and families for more than a century. In recent years, the post has expanded its community presence with the opening of its new facility and pavilion, along with service projects such as neighborhood cleanups in the Wattsville area.
Riders and non-riders alike are welcome to participate. Those unable to attend may contact American Legion Post 25 to learn about other ways to contribute.
