American Sign Language class at Lourie Center

January 7, 2016

The Lourie Center will be offering an eight-week class on American Sign Language, Wednesdays February 3 through April 6,  2-3 pm.

Learn to communicate with basic signing and insight into deaf culture.   American Sign Language (ASL) is the predominant sign language of deaf communities in the United States and most of Canada.  There is more to learning American Sign Language than just memorizing signs. ASL has its own grammar, culture, history, terminology and other unique characteristics.  ASL is a visual gestural language and is expressed through the hands and face and perceived through the eyes.

Join us for a special learning experience!
