Ami Vaughn Named New Principal of Clinton Elementary School
April 6, 2025Laurens County School District 56 recently announced that Ami Vaughn has been named the new principal of Clinton Elementary School for the upcoming school year. Ms. Vaughn will be stepping into the role following the retirement of Mrs. Melodie Edwards, who has served the school with dedication and passion. The district expressed gratitude for Mrs. Edwards’ years of service and looks forward to welcoming Ms. Vaughn as the new leader of Clinton Elementary.
Ms. Vaughn brings a wealth of experience and commitment to the role, having dedicated 30 years to the district. She began her career as a teacher at Clinton Elementary, where she spent 25 years as a classroom teacher, mentor teacher, and master teacher. She then served two years as Assistant Principal at Clinton Middle School before returning to Clinton Elementary, where she has spent the past three years as Assistant Principal.
Reflecting on her new role, Ms. Vaughn shared her enthusiasm for continuing the school’s tradition of academic excellence and fostering greater community involvement.
“I am most excited to be able to continue the academic success of our school and to bring families and community members in to share their talents and knowledge,” said Ms. Vaughn. “I want to invite everyone to come visit the school to see the great things our students are doing.”
With her extensive experience and dedication to Clinton Elementary, the community is confident that Ms. Vaughn will continue to make a positive impact in her new role as principal.
