Survivors Day celebrates life after cancer

ANDERSON, SC – May 26, 2011 – On June 12, hundreds of Upstate cancer survivors will join family, friends and AnMed Health’s staff for a beach party celebrating Cancer Survivors Day.

Cancer Survivors Day is an annual celebration of life and a chance for survivors to connect with other men and women who have shared the same experience. The event includes beach music, a fashion show and recognition of survivors. The party starts at 2 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m. at the Civic Center of Anderson.

“Cancer Survivors Day is a special event where clinicians and survivors can forget their worries and have a great time together,” said Lauren Barnett, community relations coordinator. “For two hours, everyone comes together to laugh, socialize and enjoy life.”

This free event is open to all cancer survivors and their families. Survivors who are planning to attend are asked to pre-register by June 3 by calling (864) 512-6255.
