AnMed Health’s Cancer Fighters & Survivors Day Set for September 22

September 12, 2019

AnMed Health Cancer Center is hosting its annual Cancer Fighters & Survivors Day on Sunday, September 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Civic Center in Anderson, S.C.
Cancer survivors and fighters will celebrate their cancer journeys and achievements at this annual event. AnMed Health Cancer Center invites current and former cancer patients to come and commemorate the fight, surviving the journey and simply enjoy an afternoon of festivities.

The AnMed Health Cancer Fighters & Survivors Day event will include recognition of survivors and fighters, a health and wellness expo, entertainment, a photo station to capture the occasion and, of course, cake! The health and wellness expo will feature many of AnMed Health’s Integrated Health Services, along with impressions appearance shoppe, the Cancer Association of Anderson and The Blood Connection.

“We get to celebrate the patients and their caregivers,” said Samantha Carter, assistant vice president of oncology services at AnMed Health. “When patients are diagnosed with cancer, they see us sometimes as much as they see their family because they come in for treatment as often as 2 – 3 times a week. We get to hold their hands through the journey. They are family to us, just like we’re family to them.”

This is a free event, but the AnMed Health team asks that all fighters, survivors and families register by calling 864.512.2255. Be sure to register to receive your cancer fighters or survivors gift.
