Anne Ellefson recognized withLifetime Achievement and Leadership in Law Awards

GREENVILLE, SC – March 15, 2011 – Anne S. Ellefson, managingdirector of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A., received the first “LifetimeAchievement” award from CREW Upstate South Carolina on March 14. Shealso will be honored with a “2011 Leadership in Law” award from SouthCarolina Lawyers Weekly later this month.
CREW, the networking and business development organization forcommercial real estate professional women, recognized Ellefson for her30+ years of legal experience in the real estate field. The eveningreception was held in Greenville and included several other awardpresentations.
A Shareholder in the law firm’s Greenville office where she haspracticed since 1979, Ellefson is involved in all aspects of real estatedevelopment—from zoning and permitting to the financing and closing ofsubdivisions, shopping centers and office parks. She is a member of theAmerican College of Real Estate Lawyers and American College ofMortgage Attorneys and is consistently listed in The Best Lawyers inAmerica® – Real Estate Law, South Carolina Super Lawyers® magazine forReal Estate, and is also recognized in Chambers USA.
On Thursday, March 24, Ellefson will receive a “Leadership in Law” awardfrom South Carolina Lawyers Weekly at the newspaper’s annual tribute,held at Charleston’s Francis Marion Hotel. The legal publication willrecognize a select group of lawyers in SC who tirelessly work to improvethe legal profession through various activities and initiatives,including mentoring and community participation.
Ellefson is currently the only representative from the practicing barserving on the ten-member University of South Carolina School of LawDean Search Committee. She was recognized in 2010 by the GreenvilleCounty Bar when she received the Tommy Thomason Award and in 2008,Ellefson received the University of South Carolina School of Law AlumniFoundation’s “Compleat Lawyer Gold Award.” She is an elected trustee ofthe ETV Endowment of South Carolina, and her years of volunteer serviceinclude leadership roles with the Greater Greenville Chamber ofCommerce, Greenville United Way, and Junior League of Greenville. Shealso served as chair of the South Carolina Chamber of CommerceExcellence in Education Council as a board member of the Chamber’sexecutive committee.
