Applications open for 2020 Ethel Bolden Minority Fellowship

February 24, 2020

The Richland Library Friends and Foundation is revitalizing an annual award, originally established in 2010, that bolsters academic achievements. Formerly a scholarship, the 2020 Ethel Bolden Minority Fellowship is extending its financial reach outside Richland County to include students at Midlands-area colleges.

The $3,500 fellowship encourages and provides support to students from underserved and underrepresented ethnic and racial groups who are working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree. They must also express an interest in working at Richland Library.

The Richland Library Friends and Foundation is currently accepting applications. A printable form is available at richlandlibrary.com, which details specific eligibility and application requirements. All required documents must be postmarked by Friday, May 15.

The Ethel Bolden Minority Fellowship aims to recognize Mrs. Ethel Bolden’s years of service to the Richland County community and its libraries.
