Associates on the rise at Stevens & Wilkinson

Stevens & Wilkinson (S&W), a full-service architecture, engineering and interior design firm, announced the promotion of five key team members at its Columbia, S.C. office.

“Promotions are always cause for celebration at Stevens & Wilkinson, as we truly value the opportunity to advance the lives and careers of our associates,” said Robby Aull, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP, principal and senior vice president at Stevens & Wilkinson. “As we enter our 100th anniversary in 2019, we are excited to reward these individuals and know that they will continue to serve our company well in this landmark year.”

Below is a list of the individuals who received promotions and their new titles:

Promoted to Senior Associate

Adriane McGillis, AIA, Senior Associate – Architect
Since 2001, McGillis has been the project architect on numerous healthcare projects, including the Palmetto Parkridge Hospital Ambulatory Services Upfit, CaroMont Health Freestanding Emergency Care Center in Mount Holly, N.C., and the University of South Carolina’s Center for Innovation. She continues to be a key member of the firm’s BIM committee and recently became President of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Columbia Chapter.

Walt Stellpfug, AIA, LEED GA, Senior Associate – Architect
Now in his sixth year at S&W, Stellpfug came to the firm with 15 years of experience after earning architecture degrees at both North Carolina State University and Iowa State University. Stellpfug plays a key role in the firm’s growing healthcare studio, working with clients that include Palmetto Health/Palmetto Health Richland and the South Carolina Department of Mental Health.

Robin Trinter, PE, LEED AP BD+C, Senior Associate – Senior Electrical Engineer
After her initial tenure from 1998 to 2004, Trinter returned to S&W in 2014. During her 11 years with the firm, she has served as a senior electrical engineer on the following projects: Center for Innovation at the University of South Carolina, YMCA of Columbia Downtown Upfit, the Lighthouse at Shandon Baptist Church, and numerous additions, renovations and new construction projects for Palmetto Health.

Promoted to Associate

Barry Kahler, Associate – Senior Project Manager
A veteran of the industry with more than 25 years of experience, Kahler is a senior project manager who joined S&W in November 2013. Beyond working on the Columbia office’s commissions, he has also collaborated with associates at the firm’s Atlanta office.

Shayla Merritt, Associate – Marketing & Communications Manager
For the past five years, Merritt has almost single-handedly led the firm’s South Carolina marketing department. She has also been instrumental in growing the firm’s online presence, both locally and regionally.
