Aston announced a new partnership with the owners of The Commons, a popular food hall and destination located in Unity Park. The partnership marks a significant step in Aston’s ongoing investment in the Greenville market where the company has invested significantly over the past two years.
With this new partnership, Aston brings decades of experience in managing high-traffic shopping centers while maintaining the gathering space that people have come to enjoy.
“The Commons has become a dining destination for both locals and visitors to the Greenville community,” said George S. Dewey IV, president and CEO of Aston. “Our goal is to support The Commons in maintaining its unique charm while bringing our expertise in retail management to ensure its long-term success.”
Poised to mark its five-year anniversary in November, The Commons recently launched its Phase II expansion with a variety of new dining options.
“We’re proud of what The Commons has achieved during the past several years, and looking forward to building on its success,” said Drew Parker, co-owner of The Commons and founder of Parker Group Development. “Partnering with Aston allows us to leverage their experience and resources to deliver exceptional experiences to our tenants and guests.”
Four of the seven new tenants are already open, including LaRue Fine Chocolates, Indigo Kitchen, MooHogz Craft BBQ, and Kuka Juice. The remaining three will debut this fall alongside Prisma Health’s Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital Community Health and Wellness Space.
The seven new tenants join the five original establishments at The Commons, including Automatic Taco, Bake Room, Golden Brown & Delicious, The Community Tap, and Methodical Coffee.
“Our recent expansion is a testament to the growing demand and enthusiasm from the community,” said Rion Smith, co-owner of The Commons and president of Outdoor Sports Marketing.
Ray Foral, co-owner of The Commons and founder and president of Ridgeline Construction Group, said, “This partnership with Aston marks a new chapter for The Commons, and we look forward to working with its entire team to continue to forge a unique gathering space that fosters community and showcases local talent.”
Aston is one of the largest retail owners in the Greenville metropolitan statistical area (MSA), with the company owning and managing several key properties including North Hills Shopping Center, Verdae Village, McBee Station, McDaniel Village and Powdersville Plaza.
“We are thrilled to deepen our investment in the Greenville community, where we see a tremendous potential,” said Aston Managing Director Barnes Connell. “The Commons perfectly aligns with our vision of creating dynamic spaces that bring people together. We look forward to contributing to the continued growth of The Commons as it enters this exciting new phase.”
