Attorney general nominee David Stumbo endorses Rick Shealy for SC House District 14
October 26, 2026David Stumbo, the Republican nominee for South Carolina attorney general, has endorsed Rick Shealy for the South Carolina House of Representatives, District 14.
Stumbo serves as solicitor for the 8th Judicial Circuit, which includes Abbeville, Greenwood, Laurens and Newberry counties. He has spent more than a decade prosecuting criminal cases and won the Republican nomination for attorney general in the June 23 primary runoff. He faces the Democratic nominee for attorney general in the Nov. 3 general election.
“I have spent my career working alongside the law enforcement officers, victims and families of Laurens County, and I know what this community needs from its representatives in Columbia,” Stumbo said. “Rick Shealy is a man of integrity who understands that public safety, strong families and the rule of law go hand in hand. He will be a partner in the State House for the people who keep our communities safe, and I am proud to support him.”
Shealy, an eighth-generation South Carolinian, farmer and business owner, won the Republican primary for House District 14 in June. His campaign has centered on protecting private property rights, supporting law enforcement and giving the people of District 14 an independent voice in Columbia.
“David Stumbo has earned the trust of the people of the 8th Circuit by putting criminals behind bars and standing up for victims,” Shealy said. “I am honored to have his support. As attorney general, he will fight for South Carolina families, and I look forward to working alongside him to keep our communities safe and our government accountable to the people it serves.”
The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Early voting dates and polling locations are available through the local election office.
