Aviation leader launches ASJR Aviation on Johns Island

JOHNS ISLAND, SC – Aviation executive W. Ashley Smith Jr. has launched ASJR Aviation, an aviation advisory and certification firm.
The company will provide pilot and A&P mechanic certifications, FAA designee services, aircraft inspections, and aviation business support. Smith has more than 40 years of experience in airline operations, maintenance, and business leadership across Part 91, 121, and 135 aviation sectors. He also holds FAA credentials as a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR).
Smith founded Jet Logistics Inc. in North Carolina in 2002. The company grew from a charter operator into an FAA Part 135 air carrier serving air medical, government, and special mission clients. Customers have included the U.S. Department of Defense, Indiana Donor Network, Superior Air Ambulance, Blue Tide Aviation, and Fly Business.
