Baby Days Return to Hollywild
August 6, 2010INMAN, SC – August 7-8, 2010 – Everyone loves babies, even the non-human ones! On Saturday and Sunday, August 7-8, Hollywild Animal Park will host its second annual Baby Days, in honor of all the babies that have been born at the park this spring and summer.
On Baby Days, park visitors can tour the different park habitats and look for the babies. Pink and Blue ribbons will point the way as will a list provided upon park entry.
Highlights of this year include the two new African Crown Cranes, baby lambs and goats, baby donkeys, baby Aoudads (Barbary sheep from Africa), and many goslings, ducklings, and even peachicks.
On the way out to the safari, visitors can see the baby emu and can look for the new baby “waffalo” a cross between the Watusi and a Buffalo along with the many new deer fawns from both the White Tailed and Fallow Deer herds.
Many visitors may also want to look for last year’s babies. Most have grown to adulthood and are not distinguishable from older adults, however, Carmella, the baby camel named last summer by park visitor Gabrielle Williams of Mill Springs, NC can be found at the new camel hut (topped by an American flag) in the walking park
In August, Hollywild is open Weekdays from 9 AM – 1 PM and on weekends from 10 AM – 5 PM. Rates: Adults $10, Children $8, Infants 24 months and under: free. Group Discounts available.
