Baldor Electric donates to Greenville Tech Foundation

The foundation of Baldor Electric Company, a member of the ABB group, has donated $25,000 to the Greenville Tech Foundation. The fund created will provide scholarships for students enrolled in certificate and/or degree options in CNC Programming, Computer Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Engineering Graphics Technology, Engineering Transfer, Machine Tool Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics programs at the college’s Center for Manufacturing Innovation. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and/or housing.
“Greenville is a very important community to the Baldor family,” said Jason Green, Baldor’s Vice President for Human Resources. “It’s important for us to help students understand the value of manufacturing as a career. Our hope with this scholarship fund is to continue to develop talent to fill the pipeline with well-trained employees who choose a future in manufacturing.”
“We appreciate working with Greenville Technical College, and we’re excited to build on that partnership and grow it for the future,” said Dan Martin, Baldor’s Greenville Gear Plant Manager. “We’ve hired a number of well-prepared students from the program, and we are very pleased with the quality of the programs, instructors, and facilities.”
“Baldor has been an important company to us for many years as they have provided strong opportunities for our graduates. Through this generous donation to the Center for Manufacturing Innovation, Baldor is helping us attract more students so that Baldor and others in the advanced manufacturing sector can succeed and grow,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College.
