Significant Need for Adult Ball Crew Members in 2012

CHARLESTON, SC – January 13, 2012 – The Family Circle Cup is now accepting applications for 200 adult and junior Ball Crew members.  Detailed Ball Crew information and applications are available at FamilyCircleCup.com, or at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island.  Marking the tournament’s 40th consecutive year, the Family Circle Cup is scheduled March 31 – April 8, 2012 at the Family Circle Tennis Center in the Best Tennis Town in America, Charleston, SC.

“The Family Circle Cup is dependent on the help and dedication from its ball crew volunteers,” said Eleanor Adams, Family Circle Cup Tournament Manager.  “Our biggest need is for ball crew volunteers during the first five days of the tournament because of the largest quantity of early round matches.”

An informational parent meeting will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Family Circle Stadium, at 161 Seven Farms Drive, Daniel Island.  The first practice will immediately follow the parent’s informational meeting on center court. Weekly Ball Crew training sessions will be held at the Tennis Center from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm every Saturday from February 25 – March 24.  A final, mandatory training session will be held on Friday, March 30.  All participants are needed at the Family Circle Cup (Saturday, March 30 – Thursday April 5, 2012).  An All-Star Team will be selected based on ability, performance and attitude for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, April 6 – April 8, 2012.  To receive an application, or for more info, visit FamilyCircleCup.com or call Ball Crew Shift Leader, Danny Hayes 850-980-1303 or email [email protected].

The Family Circle Cup recruits over 200 adults and juniors, ages 11 & up, for the Ball Crew.  This important volunteer area offers access to matches, players, and promises to create memories to last a lifetime
