Bank of America Private Bank expands Charleston team with new hire

Bank of America Private Bank announced the hiring of a Private Client Manager in the Charleston, emphasizing the firm’s commitment to expanding its presence across the United States and serving clients at the local level.

John Sherman joins Bank of America’s Charleston team as a Senior Vice President, Private Client Manager. Sherman is joining a group of Private Bank advisors, wealth strategists, trust officers and portfolio managers to comprehensively serve the needs of high-net-worth clients and their families.

Sherman has extensive background in private banking and wealth management with over 32 years of experience. He started his banking career at Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, OH, in their management training program before accepting a position in Private Banking. In 1998, he joined legacy NationsBank in Winston-Salem, NC, as a Client Service Officer. He held various positions over his 17-year tenure with our firm in the Triad and Charlotte markets including Relationship Manager, Trust Officer and Private Client Manager. Most recently, John was a Wealth Advisor at Truist Bank (formerly BB&T) in Charlotte, NC.

John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing at Miami University in Oxford, OH. He has his Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses as well as his SC Life and Health Insurance licenses. John has been active with various philanthropic, professional and civic organizations throughout his career.
