Bank of America Supports the Arts Through Chapman Cultural Center

July 6, 2015
SPARTANBURG, SC – Bank of America Charitable Foundation presented The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg (TAP), which is located at Chapman Cultural Center (CCC), with an $8,000 check recently to support its annual United Arts Fund. The donation will support the agency’s county-wide arts education efforts, community grants programs, public events and services, and its eight cultural “Partner” organizations.

Spartanburg Market President Scott Mitchell of Bank of America delivered the check to TAP’s President and CEO Jennifer Evins and Director of Annual Giving Karen Parrott amongst a group of girls in summer camp with Spartanburg County Historical Association, one of the Partners who will benefit from the gift.

“Do you have a piggy bank? How many of you like helping people?” Evins asked the group of young girls. “That’s what Mr. Mitchell does with Bank of America. He helps people like us so that you can have fun here at summer camp.”

The $8,000 grant will go towards TAP’s United Arts Fund, which fosters arts education programs for more than 47,000 students in Spartanburg County annually, maintains the world-class $40 million CCC facility, supports eight cultural Partners, and builds programming both on and off CCC’s campus.

“Receiving such a generous grant from Bank of America is great,” Parrott said. “Receiving the gift while surrounded by children who will benefit from Bank of America’s support made it extra special.”
