Barbara Martin joins TCMU as VP of Development

One of the region’s most respected fundraising professionals has joined the staff of The Children’s Museum of the Upstate.

Barbara Martin will serve as the Vice President of Development and will oversee donor relations for the museum dedicated to being a leader in innovative family activities, a dynamic learning center and a compelling community attraction.

“The Children’s Museum is an amazing organization with a fantastic history and culture,” Martin said.

A graduate of Bob Jones University, Martin started her career as a teacher before joining the Meyer Center for Children as its Director of Development in 2004. She left the Meyer Center in 2012 to become the Vice President of Development for Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County.

She has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive since 2001; is a graduate of The Riley Institute Diversity Leadership Class XVII; a graduate of Women Leadership of the Upstate in 2013; and has served on the boards of the Barbara Stone Foundation and the Down Syndrome Family Alliance. She also has volunteered for Harvest Hope Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, DSFA Buddy Walk and the Reedy River Duck Derby.
