Bark in the Park with the Lexington County Blowfish

June 13, 2016

Featuring Lexington County Public Works and Trash the Poop” pet-centered outreach of The Lexington Countywide Stormwater Consortium

The Lexington County Blowfish and the County of Lexington is inviting fans to bring their four-legged friends to cheer, and “woof,” the Blowfish onto victory when they play Wilson Tobs, on June 21, at Blowfish Stadium.

Dog owners attending the game will have a chance to win a membership to the Town of Lexington’s Paw Park and/or a Doggie Dooley pet-septic system at the game.

The Lexington County Public Works department will also have a tent set up at the game, which will be staffed by members of the Lexington Countywide Stormwater Constortium (LCSC), providing stormwater education for fans as well as information on events and workshops available to the public.

When stormwater washes into storm drains, it flows directly into streams, lakes and rivers. It is not treated at a wastewater treatment plant. These waterways can become contaminated with your dog’s fecal matter if it is not properly cleaned up and disposed of. The LCSC tent will be providing free bag holders to remind you to “Trash the Poop” when walking your dog.

Lexington County Public Works Director Wrenn Barrett will be in attendance to throw out the first pitch.
